Sheldon Wasserman is a Milwaukee native, a graduate of Milwaukee Public School, attended Marquette University and earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee and his M.D. degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin. He is married and has three children.

Sheldon Wasserman was elected to the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors in 2016 and re-elected in 2018, to represent the residents of Milwaukee County’s 3rd District, which includes Milwaukee’s East Side, the Village of Shorewood and most of the Village of Whitefish Bay.

Sheldon Wasserman was previously elected from 1995 to 2009 where he served residents of Wisconsin as a State Representative. During his career in the Assembly, Wasserman was looked up to by members of both parties on the issue of health care, and crafting health care related legislation. He served on the Health, Public Health, Medicaid Reform, Urban Affairs, and Corrections and the Courts committees while in the Assembly.
